Thoughtful, pensive, scheming, lost in dreams…… perfect casting!! On a photographic note, the richness of colors in the stage shots as well as the doorway shots below are wonderful and really turn the images into very interesting “winners”.

This a wonderful image and one that re-stokes my fire for Middle Saranac. I missed it last fall due to surgery, but we are already scheduled for this fall. We have a saying about the wonderful landscapes around Middle and Lower Saranac – “the views never look the same” – lighting and atmospheric conditions are constantly on the move.

Glad to see that you are back to blogging! Don’t underestimate the interest in straightforward, thoughtful commentary!!! I think either portrait or landscape images look fine. Most of us are used to seeing the size difference when working with images on a PC.

Well, this is the north country. Dress codes are much more relaxed here throughout , sometimes to an extreme. There are events that deserve to be honored by appropriate attire and respect and perhaps we’ve swung a little too far to the “relaxed” side of that pendulum. But you’re right, the opening should more properly be about the art and not the attendees. Though even here in the boonies we are very aware that few people really go to openings with the expectation of getting a good look at the “art”. Relaxed and friendly, though, is a very good atmosphere for getting together to celebrate art and each other.

what strikes me is the relaxed atomosphere! for an opeing! Here everyone still gets all dolled up and it is very well different, being seen is what seems more important than enjoying the art and the atomosphere…I would love to try to go to an opening here in jeans and northern face fleece! Even thought the weather in Cleveland is pretty rough, it is just not “done”. One venue that is more casual is held in the summer and in the old catacombs (sp.?) and that is cool and def a jeans affair!
